International Cooperations

The Research Training Group IMMUCO provides all participants the opportunity to study in international research groups. In turn, foreign PhD students from cooperating labs are encouraged to integrate in research groups of the SFB 633 here in Germany.

The research group of undefinedProf. Richard S. Blumberg, Division of Gastroenterology, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston is focussed on mucosal immunology, in particular on non-classical MHC class I molecules and antigen presentation. undefinedProf. Klaus Rajewsky and his group, Department of Pathology, that is also located at the Harvard Medical School, is mainly interested in the development of certain immune cells by using gene targeting techniques applied to mouse cells. Beside the bilateral collaborations to the lab of Prof. Blumberg and Prof. Rajewski, several SFB 633 project leader stay in contact with additional foreign cooperation partners, which albeit not integrated in the IMMUCO Research Training Group might also be happy to take up IMMUCO students.

In accordance with the methological and individual scientific aims of the project students can stay in one of the international research groups for three to six months. Students using the possibility for an international exchange receive financial support by the IMMUCO program.
