AM: Animal models of intestinal inflammation

Referentin: PD Dr. Britta Siegmund

The human inflammatory bowel disease is a complex disorder. In order to allow for a more detailed understanding of the pathogenesis in vivo models are required. However, none of the current models reflects completely human disease. Thus one has to reflect the question to be answered in the in vivo model before chosing one. This seminar will provide an overview of the models available and will then discuss when to select which model In addition, possible read-outs will be presented and any open question with regard to these models can be discussed.
